1 – Two musicians joined us at the meeting (but not as new Die Summe members)
2 – We voted to make sure meetings don’t go over 2 hours in length.
3 – The Die Summe website is about 90% finished.
4 – About first using Lemontown to meet potential Die Summe members rather than inviting people to Die Summe meetings outright: Undecided, but some members preferred inviting people through Lemontown.
5 – Die Summe logo: Neil showed us his proposal, well received, some felt the logo needed to be a bit bolder. But looking good!
6 – Legal structure: After discussion, the consensus was that ‘let’s cross that bridge when we come to it’. There was concern that the terms and conditions document that Daniel sent to us was too complex for our needs.
7 – Finders fee: it was suggested that people for find work for Die Summe get a 10% finders fee. 25% seemed too high, although standards vary depending on the kind of creative work. Some members thought 25% was good incentive for people to find work. Need to vote on this.
8 – Promoting Die Summe:
- Suggestions from Mark: use Crew United and other social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, Myspace) to promote ourselves. For that matter, Das Auge, Toytown, Xing. Also to get in touch with Zitty magazine, as their journalists could be looking for material to cover. Make friends with some journalists!
- Xavier’s short film The Line will be showing on Nov 6, and offered to help promote Die Summe there. Neil will work on simple black and white flyers for this event.
- We decided that the sole agenda point for next meeting will be marketing, and by the end of that meeting, we’ll have a fixed marketing plan. The Die Summe website will be live within the next week, and members can start adding their work. Members will spend some time thinking about how to market Die Summe, and come prepared for this meeting.
