Shared Google Calendar

10/09/2009

As you also might have noticed on the right column a RSS calendar feed (the very bottom at the moment).

It’s a Google calendar I’ve started (and manage), at the moment there is only our bi-weekly meetings in it, but when we know dates of other Lemon Town events they will be added, therefore I suggest you to subscribe to it which can be done in several ways.
Click the icon and a normal RSS subscription to it (how ever you usually do that)
iCal subscription is here
HTML link is here
and an XML is here

This calendar will just work as a reminder, the details about events you will still find on this blog.

uhh, post no 2 today

as you might have noticed there is some lovely small pictures on the right side of the blog today.

That is our new Flickr groups RSS feed being shown

http://www.flickr.com/groups/lemontown/

It’s intended for:
Pictures and videos
From group works
from events we visit

so feel free to upload any of such stuff you might have laying around.

Post 1 today… let’s see how many I manage to make after such a nice little meeting we had last night

Recap of meet up on Wed 26th

27/08/2009

Another successful social evening. I think some of us (me) were out later than intended due to the free beer that was available for the evening.

Due to the increasing numbers that attend the meet ups it is getting difficult to show and discuss our work. Cal knows of a venue, Sowieso, where we can have a room to ourselves. We will talk the the people at Sowieso and hopefully move our meetings there from the start of October.

A new project was set with the subject of I Know Your Secret. Results to be presented at the next meeting on September 9th.

It was also decided that the Co-operative name would be decided between myself, Justin and Daniel. Not exactly democratic, but the democratic process was resulting in chaos.

Recap of 12th August ’09

13/08/2009

Another fine evening, this time with a booked table, unfortunately the ones at the end of the table experienced some rain in the later part of the evening.

I’ve noted 12 people showed up, 3 new faces (Nathalie, Maria and Marīs; spelling ok ?)

A recap of Wednesday 29th

30/07/2009

There was a nice turn up of 10 people, two new ones (from Toytown) and it was after a day of peak traffic on this site (so for the conderation we should promote this page on toytown when new meetings are approching).

The earliest discussions where around trips/tours and these were up:

Bunker 302

Seebad @ Rügen

Trips
Uploaded with plasq‘s Skitch!

U-bahn evening tour

And some talk of the alternative tours, but it was encouraged to go on them individually.

Good art?

Blind Light

A group of us met up quickly at the old Berliner Brewery last night, and I think the consensus was that much of the artwork featured there wasn’t actually that strong.

So this morning, while drinking my very powerful morning coffee, I started thinking back to exhibitions over the past couple of years, and which ones I remembered as being noteworthy. The first that came to mind was Antony Gormley’s Blind Light, which I saw in London at the Hayward Gallery in 2007. It is a room with glass walls, and filled with white fog intensified by light. You experience it in two ways, by walking through the fog-filled room (you can’t see anything beyond an arm’s length) or by watching the room from the outside, where you can make the dark shapes of people as they slowly make their way around the room and come close to the glass walls.

Video (which doesn’t do the installation justice) found by clicking here, the work in question is featured after 3:21.

I’m interested, which art do you still remember from past exhibitions?

Thanks to everyone who came last night

Contacts made, ideas exchanged, viewpoints aired…….another successful meetup.

It’s agreed that a change of venue is needed as Schleusenkrug is just too big, busy, difficult to find, inconvenient, etc. Olivia had a suggestion but I can’t remember where so please remind me.

Also, ROSA CALETA in Kreuzberg has been suggested.

Possible self promotional tool?

I noticed this. Well, actually, a friend noticed it…..http://issuu.com/

Useful or another internet distraction?

Next meetup details

05/06/2009

Thanks for coming along on Wednesday night and making it such a stimulating evening. It rained, again, so we were unable to take advantage of the beer garden. Hopefully next time the sun will shine.

Anyway…..next meet up details are as follows:
Date: 17th June 2009
Venue: Schleusenkrug
Time: 7.30

Creatives of all disciplines welcome.

Remember, we are at the table with the lemon.

Why LemonTown?

24/05/2009

We call ouselves LemonTown because we originally posted on the Toytown Germany forum. At our fortnightly meetings, newcomers would know us by the lemon on our table.

So, if you come to one of our meetings and you see a lemon on the table that means you’ve found us.
