Trip: Olympischen Dorf

Ok, this is quiet different from Beelitz, since it’s actually kind of a museum.
I think I’ll go on sunday and do some research…but anyways.

So our next trip is still Olympische Dorf (post about that later today I think)

But I mentioned Friedensstadt at yesterdays meeting.

it’s so unknown that I can’t find it on Google Maps…the nearest I could get was here
go a little nort-west you should see “Glau” go towards Birkenstraße and switch view…a small little city ..abandoned…

But it demands a van/bus/car or similar and one of our new members (Stephanie) thinks that she can arrange a VW bus, which would be down-right awesome.
I’ve written to our guide from Beelitz to ask if she has a guided tour there for us as well.

since space is limited we probably have to limit it to 9 people (B drivers licens allow 9 people, so 8 besides the driver…I am the “driver )

Cost ? somewhere between 10-15 € each depending on guide or not, and we share gas costs.

Trip to Beelitz – 16th August

According to this voting we are going to Beelitz Heilstätten with guide on monday 11th Sunday 16th August.

Tonight: Art at the old Berliner Kindl Brewery

I commented on this on a post below, this is in case our readers don’t notice that comment. Tonight Neil and I are going to the old Berliner Kindl brewery, which is firstly an amazing old building, and secondly is host to an art event as part of 48 Stunden Neukoelln. Event details are here.

The brewery is on Werbellinstrasse 50, in Neukoelln, closest U-Bahn is Boddinstrasse. If this Google Maps link works correctly, it’s item C:

Post Spreepark Photos, Links etc here

I thought it would be a good idea to keep our Spreepark photos, links, etc all under one post. I had a quick look at my pictures last night, should have some decent images. I’ll post a link here soon.

Spreepark – we’re in!

OK, I’ve booked entrance to Spreepark this Saturday the 20th for 12 noon until 1 pm.

It costs 50 Euros total, and actually up to 6 people can go (I booked for 5, but I can call and change this if need be). From yesterday’s meeting, it seems like Neil, Daniel, and myself are already going – the other 3 spots are first come first serve, sign up using the comments below.

Urban exploration: Berlin

Last night we spoke of arranging trips to explore some of the many abandoned or unused buildings around Berlin. I’d like to get a trip organized to the Treptower Park fair, so I’ll call the company that owns it over the next couple of days to find out when we can actually get inside, and post back to this blog then. I thought of trying for the weekend after the one coming – what does everything think?

In the meantime, another suggestion put forward last night for a trip included Teufelsberg. Any other suggestions?
